Magway keeps the way out open

The Magway is a driverless magnetic rail network running through tunnels beneath the cluster. It works in three connected tiers: Grid, Cluster, and Global.

Each tier has its own pods moving in a constant loop, and those pods are sized by purpose.

Grid pods serve local movement. Cluster pods carry people across the Hub network. Global pods handle the long-distance routes between far clusters.

A resident begins by booking a route through the GRIDS Platform and boarding a Grid pod at their local station. The system then handles the journey automatically.

The important idea is that passengers do not change pods at stations. The deck they are sitting on changes pods for them while travelling.

As the Grid pod approaches a short section where the Grid line and Cluster line run beside each other, a Cluster pod draws alongside it.

The Cluster pod matches speed, then couples magnetically to the Grid pod while both are still moving.

Inside each pod, the floor is a complete deck mounted on rails. The passengers and their belongings remain on that deck.

When the two pods are coupled, the wall between them opens and the loaded Grid deck slides into the empty Cluster pod. At the same time, the empty Cluster deck slides into the Grid pod.

The swap is one for one, which means neither pod is left unusable. The Cluster pod now has the loaded deck and carries the passenger onward. The Grid pod receives the empty deck and continues looping on the local line, ready for its next load.

This process keeps decks and pods in constant circulation for the network.

Because the swap is automated, it finishes within the short stretch where the lines run together.

The pods do not stop. They do not slow. They do not wait at a platform for passengers to transfer.

By the time the lines split apart again, the resident is already travelling on the next tier of the Magway.

The same process happens again if the journey needs to move from the Cluster tier to the Global tier.

A Global pod draws alongside the Cluster pod, matches speed, couples magnetically, and receives the loaded deck in the same one-for-one exchange.

For arrival, the process runs in reverse until the resident reaches the destination Grid station.

That is how the Magway keeps movement constant from end to end. Pods keep circulating on their own tier, decks move between tiers when needed and passengers stay on the same deck throughout the journey.

Each station tier serves a different role within the network:

• Grid Station: One per Grid. This is the resident's local boarding point. It connects them to other Grids in the same cluster and to the Hub.
• Cluster Station: One per Hub. This is the cluster's interchange. The Cluster line runs from Hub to Hub or towards a nearby Global station.
• Global Station: The long-haul layer of the system. The Global line reaches far clusters and connects the stations that serve them.
