Queer Grid is a charter for residents who want queer life to shape the settlement from the beginning. In many places, queer people are expected to adapt themselves to systems built around someone else's idea of family or belonging. Here, the settlement recognises the lives residents have actually built and gives those lives room to become ordinary, visible and secure.
Chosen family sits at the centre of the charter because trust can carry more weight than blood. Housing recognises the household a resident truly depends on, while care records follow the people they have chosen to stand beside them. Public culture grows from that same foundation, giving the community space to remember its losses and celebrate what it has survived. Basic Law still protects the shared floor, but above it queer life is allowed to become the culture of the place.
